Osprey is deeply saddened by the tragic crash of American Airlines Flight 5342 in Washington late on January 29th.
Our thoughts are with the passengers, crew, and their loved ones during this difficult time.
At this stage and pending the outcome of the investigation, Osprey does not wish to speculate regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash. However, Andrew Nicholson, CEO of Osprey, has issued the following statement:"This is a tragic event, especially occurring so soon after two recent commercial airline crashes. At this time, it is essential to allow the world-renowned National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to conduct a thorough investigation. We will await their findings to better understand what has happened."
With increasingly busier skies, accidents like this remain a continuing risk and highlight the challenges of civil-military deconfliction, particularly with increased military activity globally. This underscores the need for the aviation industry to ensure all necessary measures are taken to fully understand and mitigate risks in their operating environments.
Osprey will continue to monitor developments and we extend our sympathies to all those affected by this tragic incident.
